Hi Pat--I can't seem to find anywhere as to how much it cost for a taxi to port from airport. Have you found anything yet?

Our flight gets in around 10 am, so am wondering if anyone wants to share?

Doreen

Hi Doreen

I am staying in Santurze the night before and shareing a van with another passenger we were quoted 48euros if this is any help to you. I was told that taxis were readily available.

Have a good day

Pat

We (Keith and Doreen from Montreal) are arranging for Mario's CL1 tour which takes its time crossing to the Pacific side, while Pat Novak from SC is arranging for CL9 which goes straight South for a tour of Panama City. It looks like both tours have sufficient numbers to be confirmed. Anyone wanting to join either tour can decide on board but it might be a good idea to decide before Saint Martin so we can phone/email to confirm the right size of vehicle.

I took the cruise May 28 from Cartagena, Columbia to Lisbon, my first Pullmantur cruise, and had a wonderful time.Naomi Helton

Hi Naomi (missyh51)

Were there theme nights in the dining room on your transatlantic? I'm just wondering if I need to pack the Hawaiian shirt :) or the white dress?

Hi Keith and Doreen

The tour CL9 does go to the Miraflores Locks and the Canal Expansion which are the new locks and can be up to 45 minutes there also see the Centennial Bridge and the Pedro Miguel Locks also the visitors center then going to the city to see the Cathedral historical buildings on then to the new city.

And then hopefully we can arrange transportation to a central destination to be able to obtain transport to our final destination.

Once we know how many are going we can work out our destination.

Hope this clarify's this tour. It does take 6-8 hours

Hi All

This tour will cost us $70.00 person plus tip and the optional $15 to enter the visitors center if more than two people decide to go.

I have not confirmed with Mario yet so I need a head count

I would like to contact Mario by the end of the week with a estimate.

So please post that you want to go on tour CL9.

Thanks Pat

My friend just took this cruise from Colon to Portugal this past May. Theme nights were white night (wear white), gala night (he wore a nice dress shirt), tropical night (Hawaiian shirt), pirate night, and formal night (nice top again). This is from what he remembers and might be few more. We are traveling Europe before embarkation in Portugal, so my wardrobe is going to be limited to nice tops for these nights (or sundresses). He also said that people were turned away for wearing tank tops in the dining room, but shorts were still acceptable (even though the notes state "no shorts in dining rooms"). Hope this helps with the theme nights!

I believe I prefer the CL1 tour RAINFOREST, COLONIAL FORT + CANAL EXPANSION as long as they drop us off in Panama City :) . Dave C.

I have signed up for this tour via the myfriendmario website. In the comments section I mentioned your names as traveling companions. I am traveling solo so I will add one to your tally. I am fine with any Panama City drop off. I can catch a taxi if my hotel is too far from the drop off location. Thanks,

Kat

Hi Caleb,

CL1 will get you to Panama City. I'm not positive but I think it gets you there around 4 PM.

If you are interested I will need to let My Friend Mario know. How many people are in your party?

Keith

I'm interested and there is just me in my party. First solo cruise.

Thanks

I am setting up a van or two maybe if needed to get to PC from Colon the day we arrive. There is a possibility of a tour that could be included in the transportation. If anyone is interested feel free to contact me. I used the tour guild in May coming to Colon from PC and it was excellent. :)

You might want to review some of the previous quotes as there are already a couple of groups planning tours as follows......

Please registered with My Friend Mario http://www.bscpma.com/mfm/index.htm so they can keep track of the number of people for each tour. It's getting a bit confusing for all the back and forth emails.

Thanks everyone and looking forward to meeting you all on board.

Hi All especially prior Monarch cruisers

I have read conflicting posts about the power outlets in the cabins.

Some say the ship has both 110 and 220 like all Royal ships and others say just 220.

So anyone who has cruised on the Monarch what is it? 220 110 or both?

Also do they supply hair dryers?

I hate to pack the voltage converter and adapters since they are heavy.

May just leave the tablet home if it is 220.

Thanks for your help

We are from all over the usa...have been traveling separately the last month or so...but meeting up to sail back. In our 50s and 60s. Mostly single. From Las Vegas, la, Seattle, florida, Tennessee and more. We look forward to meeting everyone. Is there an official meet planned? My boyfriend and I get on in Germany the week before. One of our friends is a professi9nal Santa Claus. You can't miss him. Just say hi to Gary. This should be a fun cruise. We all like to have fun!

I'm interested in combining with others interested in taxi/tour from Colon to Panama City.

I have read elsewhere that Pullmantur eventually advertises transfers from Colon to Panama City, but waits to lessen the impact on their planned excursions for that date. Hopefully that is true, but if not, combining would save some funds.

I am still looking for reasonable transportation in Bilbao to the cruise dock in Getxo, but I'm staying the night before so I am traveling from a hotel not the airport. Apparently the bus service and metro subway are $2-5and both run a few blocks from the dock, but neither have (at least from what I've found online so far) have stations or stops near the airport or the airport Holiday Inn Express (free airport shuttle) I'm staying at. Which makes no sense to me' I may get a taxi to bus or metro stop & go or just take a taxi

Hi just booked this cruise and also the Holiday Inn Express in Bilbao - happy to share a cab to the port if you haven't made other arrangements

I have just booked today so may be out of the loop with all the postings here - I am very interested in doing a bit of a tour from the ship then on to Panama City - will be staying there overnight at the Hilton so need to be dropped off there - if this fits with your group, please add me to the list

Thank you

Happy to see so many English speakers on board

Did I get it right that there is a way to book myself onto a singles table in the dining room - going for first sitting which is a perfect time - if yes, would someone be so kind as to advise how I do this?

Heading to Bilbao on 16th and staying at the Holiday Inn Express - happy to share taxi or whatever transportation is being organized - one med sized suitcase and my backpack -

Happy to participate in a tour around prior to heading to Panama City - again overnight there in the Hilton so not in any rush

Sorry if all this has been done and dusted to death - better late than never

HI, teabear:

We may be staying at the Holiday Inn Express, also. Will know for sure in a day or two.

If we stay there I will be arranging a mini van transfer to the port.

We are 2 and I am traveling with a mobility scooter so will need a mini van.

The mini van could hold up to 4 people so if you and the other person staying at Holiday Inn Express would want to share the cost would, probably be less than 1 or 2 people in a taxi.

I will post when I have definite arrangements.

If you want you could email me at casinojoanm at aol dot com

Look forward to meeting you soon,

JOAN
