Dubrovnik beaches

Recommended Posts

We were in Dubrovnik in the middle of the sizzling summer. What we did was walk to the city instead of taking the shuttle. It took us well over half an hour because we dawdled. It's such a pretty walk and there were so many photo ops! We walked by these big cliffs that had steps to the bottom where we saw lots of people swimming. Had we not been anxious to see what the city center looked like, we probably would have stopped there and swam for the day. But we carried on instead to Dubrovnik proper. Once in, we walked to the far edge where we took a quick boat ride to the island of Lokrum. http://www.dubrovnik-secrets.com/ds/islands_lokrum.html It cost only a few dollars and a few minutes and we were there! Talk about wonderful. The swimming is fantastic and there's even a swimming hole with a grotto. It was one of the best swim & sun days we've ever had. And to top it all off, there are facilities to change into a swim suit, ruins to see, and a cafe where you can buy a nice cold beer if you'd like. I smile just thinking about our perfect summer day in Dubrovnik.
