Superdottie Posted March 27, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 27, 2016 I'm considering switching from a forward facing Lido oceanview to an aft Rivera balcony. The balcony room is just inside from the terrace pool. Will I hear noise from the pool in the rooms near the pool? Is that pool area generally quiet at night? msw.delafield Posted March 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2016 Have stayed in Riviera aft balconys (R746/R747) several many times, IMO the further back is best to avoid noise from above. The aft pool is essentially empty and uninhabited after about 7pm. This is a nice location on the ship. Easy access to aft elevators and close to Horizon Court. Your only concern might be with the door that leads out at the end of the hallway to the aft pool, it can slam at times under certain conditions. Many here comment on this door issue but It's never been a problem for us on any of our trips. Hope this helps your decision!
rdsqrl Posted March 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2016 I wouldn't be at all concerned about pool noise. Those cabins aren't really all that close to the pool area, what with it being up a half-flight of stairs, and even in full use at mid-day, it's generally relatively quiet out there. I'd be more concerned about noise from the buffet immediately overhead, although you'll be under the carpeted seating area, so that should minimize it somewhat.
