beaches near the port?

The Hilton is $15 for a day pass. Small Private beach and pool, very quiet atmosphere. This is not a resort, but a small classy business hotel.

Perfect for a quiet afternoon on the beach with a cool drink.

Paradise Islands' Cabbage beach (Shared with Atlantis/RIU) is open to the public, with NO amenties to speak of. You can rent a chaise, but theres' no food/beverage service or bathrooms.

Cable Beach hotels, such as Nassau Beach Hotel and Wyndham allow cruisers to use their beaches. They assume you'll bring your own towels and purchase food/beverages from their concessions. Bathrooms available.

You can take a cab to either Cabbage Beach ($4pp) or Cable Beach ($12 for 2ppl)

There's a stretch of rocky public beach just west of town, no amenities, but the water is crystal clear and calm. You can easily walk to this beach from the port. But, I must say, the beach is not well maintained for most of the season.

I'd opt for either Cabbage Beach or Cable Beach.

thanks- we are planning on snorkeling and going to the pirate museum, so just want to take a short trip to the beach - not make a whole day of it. I am kind of concerned about the amount of time it would take us to taxi to Paradise Island.

Also maybe the queens staircase and fort? can we walk there?
