So we leave in 9 days on the Gem...I booked late ( a week ago ) ...how soon before do you find out what cabin you get lol....This will be my 18th cruise....never did this option before :) and if anyone else did this....whats the best room you got??? lol

I have no idea, but I am just wondering why some are done so quickly and others have to wait. Is it just the popularity of the cruise?

We booked a GTY balcony 17 days before Canadian March break and had our cabin assigned within a day or two. I had never booked a GTY cabin before, so I was checking our edocs regularly. Ends up we received an email from NCL as well,but it showed up on the edocs first.

There is no rhyme or reason on when the assignment comes, it can be anytime between booking and embarkation.

 

Also the popularity of the cruise has nothing to do with it, even reservations for the same category on same sailing can get assigned at very different times.
