!! Oasis !! 9 Days Medley Cruise ^_^ The Ultimate Review and Complete Pictorial Guide

Man I hope the situation with the smokers ends with them walking the plank! Can't believe how rude they were to your mum! Making me rethink balcony as well.

Yeah, that was not the best night of our cruise. I think this is the first time that we had issues with our neighbors.

I am a FB stalker, so I know how the smoking situation ends, but I am still fuming (no pun intended, or maybe a little) at how they treated you and your mom. It's a shame that their daughter will probably turn out to be an entitled, rude person if they have anything to do with it. I just don't understand how people can't take responsibility. They were in the wrong and they should have never acted that way. You and your mom should not have had to endure that.

It is annoying that security can't walk into their room and smell smoke and fine them. Seriously, smokers still smell like smoke even when they come inside from the balcony.

RCCL needs a better way to enforce their own regulations. This was a very frustrating situation to be in. I am not really sure what they were doing with the butts of the cigarrettets.

Gambee!!!!! Come BACK!!!! I need to hear how this ends with the neighbors!:D:D

I will say that I am a smoker, however, since the rules went into effect on Carnival, I never dreamed of lighting up on my balcony. Rules are rules.

Speaking of which, is it true that the only two smoking areas on Oasis are deck 16 or the casino?:eek:

That is going to SUCK!!!! lol

I think you're right, those are the only areas that I noticed smokers. You might have to move around to smoke.

It's like a season finale cliffhanger of your favorite show... Did Gambee's neighbors walk the plank, fed to the sharks, or strung up like the horses?? Stay tuned to find out!!

So enjoying your review! You are a great story teller, I'm sitting on the edge of my seat.

Can't wait to hear the rest. Your pictures are beautiful. It's so nice you spend quality time with your mom. I'm going on the Allure in May with my BFF and her mom. She is so much fun. Hope all turns out well and that they walk the plank!

Terry

Thank you for the kind words Terry, I hope you have a fabulous cruise!

You should have blasted your horn everytime they lit up. That might have slowed them down! Or had security come into your cabin and wait for them to light up.

I never thought of that, but then again, I would not want to bother all around us, just because of them.

Like everyone else, I'm sorry to hear about the smokers. Maybe next time videotape them on your phone? Heck, throw on Periscope and let the world see how rude they are!! At the very least, you would see the smoke as evidence.

Although - it's one thing to be rude and smoke. It's entirely something else to make fun of your mother. I'm with you there - I would have gone completely crazy!

Yeah, when they mocked my mom is when I lost it, I had never seen such rudeness while on a cruise. By then we just wanted the issue resolved.

Loved your pictures of Oasis at night in San Juan! :D

Very disappointed in RCI Security staff lack of response to your smoking neighbors. Not good, RCI! :mad:As another poster suggested, I wonder if video evidence would have helped.

I tried getting pictures, but it was impossible. These people were very quick the smoking. I was definitely disappointed with RCCL and this issue.

Gambee, DH and I can't thank you enough for this fabulous review and pictorial!

We'll be sailing on the Oasis next month, first time on a ship this size and to be honest I've been a little apprehensive of the sheer size of it.

Your review has put me at ease and has been so informative and enjoyable, your photos are amazing, too!

Your mom is adorable and so lucky to have a wonderful son like you.

We're looking forward to the rest of your review, can't wait!

You have nothing to worry about, Lady O is an amazing ship! Thank you for following and commenting. I hope you have a great cruise!

Loving your reviews! Am very amused by the "cold water" comments. We are from NY and are used to the Atlantic (Cape Cod) and such. Hoping our definitions are vastly different and I will be enjoying the "warm" waters of the islands next week from the Anthem lol.

I actually used to go in plenty of freezing rivers in Colombia when I young. But I do enjoy my oceans nice and warm, I think I have been spoiled but the south florida waters :D

Love Megans Bay! We were their a few weeks ago. Your pictures bring back such great memories. What a perfect beach! We rented two chairs and an umbrella- had a great day.

Thanks for sharing

You're welcome, glad you enjoy the review.

Yeah, maybe with better food, I would have enjoyed it more.

Hi Gambee. Some people are so entitled! The smokers next to you are beyond rude. How dare they impact the enjoyment of the vacation you paid for. The entitled female and her Mercedes, well who cares what she drives. She just had to make sure the driver knew that she was more important than him because of what she drives. People like your neighbours and the fancy car lady do not have enough intelligence and class to display simple manners. Shame on them!

I actually found the Mercedez lady quite funny :D. The best part was her husband hiding from the entire ordeal in the front. He did not say one word, I can only imagine what was going through his head. But yeah, she did feel superior than everyone else.

Your pictures are awesome!!! I take it that it is relatively easy to get around San Juan. I look forward to next year going there. The way you take pictures really says a lot!!!

It is very easy and quick. If anything, just pull your phone out and use the navigation.

Religion is always a touchy subject. But I am actually quite happy spiritually. I have been offered to go to a few open minded churches around here, but quite honestly, I have no desire to do so. I like where I am currently at :)

That's what matters [emoji4]

My first time at Megan's bay was back in 1978. Back then there were no buildings on the hillsides of the bay. We were told it was going to stay that way. It is obvious that has changed.

A truly great review. I can't imagine what it would cost if all your pictures were on film and had to be developed. So glad some genius came up with digital.

Oh dear, I completely forgot about film. I remember mom used to complain not to waste any pictures on pointless things. And you know me, I take pictures of everything and anything :D

Gambee loving your review as always. Can't wait to find out what happened with the smokers. We might need to start using the video function on our cameras and phones. Get up bright and early and set it up to record their morning smoke. This is why I think I'm going to start packing stinky cologne. You know that .99 Cent store brand that smells awful. I'll purchase about 5 bottles. If the smokers don't cooperate I'll make sure they don't enjoy their balcony either. It's terrible people can't follow the rules. AARRGGHH!!

LoL, but if I use the stinky cologne I would have to smell it as well. I think that is a lose/lose solution :D. Well more like lose/lose/lose cause now I have 2 stinky smells, :D

Do you know if drinks here are covered under their alcohol program?

Also, it is a shame that the food at the cafe is so bland when the presentation is so nice.

I am not sure, but I would imagine they are. There is nothing special to them.

Maybe someone else can chip in?

I was thinking the same thing.... We are from Michigan and have never experienced "cold" water in the Caribbean! haha guess it is a matter of perspective! Loving the review Gambee - so glad you did a beach day on St. Thomas as I am trying to determine which beach to go to when we dock there on Oasis next April.

I will most likely go to Coki beach next month on our Escape cruise. Keep an eye for it, as will compare the experiences.
