how full are repositioning cruises?

DH and I are booked on part of the fall Pearl reposition from Vancouver to LA. DH only agreed if I made it as cheap as possible, so I booked an IX, which for the 2 of us is totally fine, its the kids that make us desperately want suites - but I was wondering, how full do these reposition cruises normally run? I wouldnt mind a window or balcony (or suite, if the $$ is right)

What is the chance of getting an upsell close to cruising time (like 1-2 weeks out) on this type cruise?

I did search, but this is fairly specific and I didnt find much recent.

Thanks.

Not sure on the upsell because I've never tried that avenue but I have done the west coast repositioning cruises by booking a few days prior to sailing. Price of tax and port fees often around same as fare.

I would say odds of upgrading close to sail are fairly good.
