louiselanch Posted April 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 8, 2016 Hi We are looking to book a cruise September, I can't decide between ncl escape or carnival magic. We will have 11 yr dd with us. I like the look of the ports on Carnival magic, but the escape works out slightly cheaper with the free at sea deal at the minute (finishes on 10th April). We have cruised once before on Ncl spirit and loved every minute. We would like a balcony on either ship. Has anyone been on both to give us a good comparison? Thanks

Thanks Have never been on CCL but just got off the Escape and we loved it! Great rooms, great food, great service and so much to do around the ship! The only drawback was the entertainment but I think we caught the ship between rotating shows so the entertainment was just ok. If you go over to CCL forum I know there are some extensive reviews of the Magic because I myself was looking at the Magic as a possibility for our next cruise. res2cue Posted April 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 8, 2016 (edited) I have been on the magic with a then 10 year old. It was an enjoyable ship. Haven't been on the Escape but going on the Getaway in 2 weeks and have been researching the Getaway and Escape extensively. Hoping the Escape will be our next cruise.. all this said, I believe there will be many MANY more things to keep your child entertained on the Escape. There are more slides, the ropes course on the Escape makes the ropes course on Magic look tiny. I'm not sure about kids programs on NCL but my 10 year got very bored very fast with Camp Carnival with a couple exceptions ie: the late night party Sent from my SM-G935W8 using Tapatalk Edited April 8, 2016 by res2cue
Mistizoom Posted April 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2016 Just FYI, the current "Free at Sea" is going to at least the end of April, though the NCL website does say the "up to $500 OBC for 2016 sailings" is ending April 10. https://www.ncl.com/termsandconditions/choicemarch2016?cid=DM_MKD_NA_PRO_NA_PNP_POS_WAVE16_31636_NA_31636
