Vatican tickets

Word to the wise, if you are going to visit the vatican don't ever buy vatican tickets from anyone else other then the vatican website. I tried to buy tickets from the vatican site ahead of time so as to avoid the long lines, but was unable to do so because they will not sell them two months before the visit, so I decided that I would buy them on a site called Italy Travels. To my surprise, you guessed it I had to wait two months before my visit and they charged me 5 Euros per ticket as their comision, they also charged me 4 Euros per ticket that the vatican charges them. What they do is they purchase the tickets from the vatican site with your info and then send you the voucher which by the way is the same voucher the vatican issues. So I paid 84 euros for 4 tickets that I could have bought at the vatican site for 64 Euros.

Another on line website tickitaly has a very good option where you can request tickets in advance and you are waitlisted and vouchers sent on opening date . You pay extra commission but it is a good option and service .
