Just an FYI for those who choose self-disembarkation on the Dawn.

You get off of the ship onto the 2nd level of the Port Building. There are only 2 elevators that can be used to get down to the street level and 2 flights of stairs.

You will only be allowed to use the stairs if you have one hand free to grip the rail. Staff was very on-point in checking to make sure you could handle your luggage safely as well as having one hand free before they would let you near the stairs. The line for the elevators got REALLY long, REALLY quick.

If you know you will be using the self-disembarking option, make sure when packing your luggage that your group will be able to handle the luggage and have a hand free, could end up saving you a bunch of time in line.

We didn't know about this until we were in the Elevator line. Looked at each other quick,, did a fast luggage juggle and voila! One hand free for both of us!

Plan to use a couple of large backpacks we have on the next trip to make it a little easier along with rolling suitcase each.

Happy Travels to everyone!
