WYTinman Posted April 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 15, 2016 We are having our wedding on the Spirit next week prior to the Transatlantic. We have purchased a wedding photo package from NCL. A set amount of a ships photographer time. A set number of prints and a thumb drive of the photos. My question..... Does NCL give you the *raw* files of the photos or JPEG on the thumb drive. My preference is for the RAW, so I can process the images to my liking once we get home. TIA Mark
Dan_K Posted April 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 15, 2016 We were on the Jewel last summer and did formals in the ship's photo studio. We purchased the package of photos on a USB thumb drive. They were JPEG's. I specifically asked for RAW files so I could process them myself in Lightroom or Photoshop, and they wouldn't do it for me. Dan_K Posted April 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 15, 2016 And as a follow up.... I also asked them not to do any cropping so I could crop myself. They did do this for me.
WYTinman Posted April 15, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted April 15, 2016 Thanks Dan, We should be the first photo event on the ship. So I'm hoping the photographer will be willing to shoot in RAW. If it is a file size problem, I will be bringing a portable HD that they can transfer to instead of the thumb drive. I'm going to try and see him before the event and ask. Cropping didn't even cross my mind. If they insist on JPEG I too don't wish to have the cropped image. Thanks Mark
WYTinman Posted April 15, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted April 15, 2016 Were the digital images watermarked by NCL ? Mark
Dan_K Posted April 15, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 15, 2016 No watermarks. And they also provided the copyright release which is important if you go to a commercial print lab. The pictures were high quality.
gymbomb Posted April 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 15, 2016 We had the same experience as Dan. We got our wedding photos on DVD in JPEG format with a copyright release. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
