Captains Cocktail Party

I am a 1st time cruiser on Princess, will they have a Captains Cocktail party for me to attend? If so, are there free drinks offered?

Not for your first cruise.You'll need to be on your second Princess cruise before you're invited to a "repeaters party" and get to enjoy some nice watered-down drinks.

I might be wrong but I thought there were 2 cocktail parties. One for repeaters and one for everyone held on one of the formal night.

Usually 1st formal (on 7-night sailing) is Captain's reception which includes those wonderful watered-down cocktails...but a secret if you ask the waiter for something other than what they are offering they will bring it to you. My DH wanted a martini and low and behold....The 2nd formal usually is the same night as the "free champagne" waterfall (if you don't take into consideration the pictures you have to buy (lol))

We just got off the Sapphire and there are actually three that we could have gone to. One was for everyone and was held kind of in the Atrium area on one of the formal nights. We also got an invitation to a second one for Capt. Circle members (after your 1st cruise you will be one) in Club Fusion and one more invitation on another night for Platinum and Elite members.
