Kinda cool, I wonder on the price and weight compared to a good tripod. But regardless, it doesn't really look any smaller than a tripod. This might be a case of, "if it aint broke, don't fix it."

Those folks have some impressive engineering skills for DSLR video production equipment - a little bit out of my budgetary range, but cruised the whole site this morning and was pretty impressed - especially the target slider system.

I have a hunch this is more of a video oriented support. As shootr said, their site is mainly video support systems.

 

It is, however, still very cool!

Thoughts...

• how much? how much is a regular tripod?
  
• those wheels look kinda small.... Will there be too much vibration on carpets or other rough terrain?
  
• Weight? How heavy is it compared to a regular tripod? Airlines weight surcharges are ridiculous.

This is not for stills IMHO. It would not be usable with any heavy teli/zoom lens. I could see it being use for video shooting with a standard zoom length lens. It could be heavier than it looks. I'll stick to my tripod/monopod setup.

 

Everything with support is a compromise, so some will find a use for it.

I'm thinking it would be good for location videographers. Wedding shoots where level surfaces abound.

 

For that, the pop-up/pop-down ease would be a great feature.
