Just got back from Royal Caribbean Cruise and Falmouth was one of my stops. I got a day pass to Royalton White sands.

I was so pleased and so happy with my stay. I told them to get me a taxi which was waiting for me. I got there and everything went smooth. The resort is small so it was easy to get to everything.

The water park was lots of fun. It's small but it perfect for my girls 5 and 3.

I ate amazing jerk chicken and jerk pork and lots of drinks that was included with my day pass.

The beach was beautiful, white sand, clear blue water.

Once I was done my taxi driver was waiting for me to take me back to the boat.

Would so recommend it and i might stay for a week there next time.

What was the cost for the day pass, and how much was the taxi one way?

We are trying to decide between there or Rose Hall. We have four kids( 8, 11, 16 & 18.) Is the water park more for little ones ? Did you call the resort directly? Did you arrange the cab through the resort too? Thanks !

Thank you so much for posting. I have a day pass purchased from island marketing in June for our family to the Royalton and have not seen many reviews. It's so close to port and looks excellent with a water park for my 6yo and 3yo. I think it's not very popular because you have to take your own transportation.

Any chance the cabs or Van had seat belts? Not sure about car seats but we will have them with us.

And what was the cost from the taxi stand at Falmouth port?

I booked transportation through Island Marketing when I went a few weeks ago.

Transportation was a breeze the only thing I will commit was to get to the taxi you have to leave the port but It's right there so don't let the locals bother you. The cost for the taxi was 20 there and 20 back. Yes there were seat belts in my taxi.

Thanks for the reply. I canceled my transfer through Island Marketing because I didn't want to meet the driver outside the port gates. My plan is to try the taxi stand within the port and see what the price difference. It's worth a couple more dollars to nit walk all the way to the courthouse to meet them and have less chance of anyone bothering us. I'll report back in June when we get back how it worked.

  • 2 weeks later...

We just returned from our day pass to the Royalton.

It was fantastic.

We chose to book transport with them... It was a little intimidating leaving the port and all the local taxis wanting you to choose them for a ride.

Our driver met us as outlined in our reservation.

The drive was 10-15 min away. Getting through town on the way back was busier but felt easier as we were dropped of In the port.

The food and drinks were great. Spent most of the day at the pool and water park. The sea was rough and turned up but warm.

Beach area is small but lovely.

Clean resort

Staff were extremely friendly and lots of servers walking around getting drinks for everyone.

Easy to get chairs with an umbrella

No problems getting towels.

Small resort easy to get around

There is construction going on... Most noticeable at the water park.

We would consider staying for a week!!!

Thanks Captain. I'm leaving in less than 30 days and I'm really excited to take the whole family. That construction next door is going to be Royalton Blue Waters. They are adding more pools, lazy river and more resteraunts. Was originally going to be an adults only area now they changed it to family as well.

Just sent a request through island marketing for a day pass at Royalton Whitesands during a cruise we're taking in October and received a reply that as of August 1st, 2016 price increases by $10 per adult and per child. Adult will be $98, kids $54 after Aug 1st.

Still probably cheaper than booking through the resort itself if you have kids. Last time I called they wouldn't give me a child price but it depends who answers the phone at the resort I guess.

I agree, it's still cheaper compared to other similar offerings. I haven't tried calling hotel directly as I don't feel it would be any less expensive. I'm just disappointed the price change affects our trip but it happens.

Booked Royalton White Sands thru Island Marketing back in November 2015.

Resort was crowded but nice.

As we were being "escorted" to our chairs by these three young men they took him off to the side and wanted him to go with them to smoke the "local specialty" (if ya know what I mean) which could be smelled throughout the beach area. Of course he said no. Who in their American right mind would step foot off resort property and risk being beaten, robbed or kidnapped. The "local folks" were standing at the property line just waiting for the tourists to offer up their goods or some horseback riding, which was quite sad looking at these horses standing around all day in the heat, and looking a little on the thin side. Sorry, not much for paying for animal entertainment.

I just thought it was a little aggressive for hotel employees to approach strangers and ask them to smoke weed and then constantly coming around to our chairs asking where my son was. Made us a little uncomfortable so we sat in the pool at the swim up bar for most of our time there.

Ate lunch buffet, pretty good. They also have a sports bar on property over by the pool tables and ice cream/coffee place where you can also order food for free.

Probably won't return to Royalton just because of the immediate harassment we experienced. Just a little inappropriate for me.

**Oh and a little tip: If you want a drink while sitting on the beach be prepared to WAIT. It took our server well over 20 minutes to bring 1 drink and the ice was melted. Go to the bar yourself - it's quicker!

Thank you for your comments. I admit this is the first review that I have seen on Royalton that is a bit troubling to me. Now I am rethinking the whole thing as we have a son that will be turning 20 on the day that I was planning on us being there. Don't want to experience the same thing you and your son dealt with.
