Cajunmomof3 Posted May 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 8, 2016 This is a very specific question. But I know someone on here has the answer! We have been on 3 family cruises- 2 Disney and 1 Carnival. My oldest son (15) has Aspergers and struggles socially. On the Disney cruises, he loved the teen/tween areas. He stayed there as long as we would let him. There was always something going on (games, computers, organized activities). Not so with Carnival. The teen area consisted of a couple of couches. My son isn't interested/very good at just hanging out so he was bored. My question: what are the teen areas on RC (we will be on the Grandeur in August)? Are they meet-up areas (like Carnival) or activity centers (like Disney)? Thanks for any info you can share!
cb at sea Posted May 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 9, 2016 RCI is more like Carnival than Disney. Most older teens simply use the 1st night to meet others, and then, they "do their own thing" for the most part. BUT...they do have some activities up to the age of 17...it's just that most older teens aren't "into" organized stuff...
rebeccalouiseagain Posted May 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted May 9, 2016 (edited) My own 15 year old isn't into the organized activities anymore. The teens tend to just go in the evening and there are some events that are well-attended in the evening.
