The answer to the first question depends on the ship, 7 do and 7 don't.

Yes - Veendam, Maasdam, Zaandam, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Volendam, Princendam

No - Oosterdam, Noordam, Westerdam, Zuiderdam, Eurodam, Neuw Amsterdam, Konigsdam

 

Second question - I believe they are open every day 8 am or so to 9 pm or so

even in port

Also depends on the port. For some reason St. Petersburg Russia there was no laundry being done ANYWHERE! on the ship -- water restrictions. Two or three other places this was true also. Just a little different and we had advance warning but don't remember if it was before the cruise or after we sailed that this was told to us. Somewhere on the ship is a very smart officer making sure that the ship meets all the rules of the countries you are visiting.

On Amsterdam (our last cruise Dec. 18 - Jan 4th) the laundry room was open 24 hrs a day. I am not sure if the laundry room was open while we were in port I didn't use it then, but I frequently did laundry at 2 am, 3 am or 4 am. Get three machines going 45 minutes later come back and use three dryers. 2 hrs. and three loads done, folded and I am back to bed.

 

I have trouble sleeping at night sometimes so no problem for me to get up and do laundry.
