Hi All

Only ever seen a tender break down once and needing a tow,

have seen tenders / life boats getting started and checked out,

same with pilots under going training and certification,

can not recall now have many hours he had to do to keep

his ticket for using a lifeboat.

But seemed very regulated for or safety.

yours Shogun

Hello everyone,

After a bad experience tendering in Maui on Star Princess last week, I am curious how often tenders break down. We had multiple boats fail and it made me a tad uncomfortable for the return trip.

Thanks!

Were the tenders eventually towed to the ship?

Thanks to all!

My crude math was 20 x 150=3000. I was not factoring in the crew life rafts at all. I am aware of them but have no knowledge of how many/capacity.

One tender was towed back to ship. The other two were at the dock in Lahaina. Our tender carried over a couple of mechanic types carrying tools and jugs of something. Fuel? They got them running and back to the ship where they stayed.

The answer to my original question seems to be that this is a rarity.
