shutuph Posted May 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 18, 2016 Hi Probably a silly question but hope someone knows! We have rented a Green Jeep in Skagway and are driving into the Yukon. Is it safe to wander Robinson Roadhouse. I wondered about snakes, bears and maybe poison ivy. I noticed it is a Historical Site but didn't know if lots of people wander it or not. Any other out of the way places to see on the Klondike HWY would be appreciated.

I love Robinson Roadhouse. Very evocative of the era. You will be out of sight of your car though, so yes, be alert of bears.

It's pretty open so any bears would probably see/smell you and make tracks the other way. There are plenty of marmots/ground squirrels to give audible warnings too.
