OK, I'm going absouletely crazy with with excitement at this point. I live in NY,so I keep looking at my suitcase and thinking "I can pack my shorts now, it's not like I'm going to wear them now". :)

When I receive my cruise documents in the mail, I'll probably carry them all ove the place with me shoiwng tem off like my fist child or something.

i cannot wait. i am going on the majesty for a 3 day out of miami and i keep looking on ebay and buying little things i might need. i am so afraid of the rocking of a ship that i just bought the pressure point seasick wristbands just in case.

i bought a lanyard, i bought my fancy outfit for the dressy dinner, i bought a new robe so i don't scare my cabin mates with my yucky one.

This little thread brings back so many happy memories! The anticipation, the worry, the joy of finally being airborn, the first glimpse of the ship. I hope you all have wonderful cruises and please stop back on these boards to tell us how great it was. :D

Part of cruising is the pre-cruise excitement. I still get crazy before a cruise and btw BernardShawn, thats why they call it a "doc dance". I do it every time my tickets arrive.

Remember your cruise will be here before you know it, so enjoy this time by coming here & talking to other cruisers. Before you know it you will be arriving at the port and seeing your ship for the first time. It's always an awesome sight! Welcome to cruising!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi Guys, I will be a first time cruiser on the Dawn out of New York on Dec1st. I am already ADDICTED to everything about this cruise. Especially these boards. I am learning so much! My wife and kid think I have gone crazy. I am counting down the days, hours, min, and seconds. I have changed my flight to come in the day before instead of the day of the cruise so I don't miss the ship. Cant wait for:

The plane ride

The cab to the port

The first time I see the ship

The minute I walk on the ship

The first time I see my room and balcony

My first drink

My first meal

Meeting fellow CC

The ports

Fish and chips

I could go on and on. Is it supposed to be this way?

There is nothing like the excitement of that first cruise! We knew we'd probably like it, but it was so much better than anything we could imagine. We are going on our 5th cruise next month and can't wait. We schedule in Feb. & just think about it for 10 months until Dec.! You'll be hooked after this. Have a great trip.

Our first cruise was out of Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale). The airport is a short distance from the port and the plane's final approach is almost directly over the cruise terminal. Imagine the thrill of seeing your ship for the first time while still airborn. Its awesome :D

... if memory serves, that means you want a window seat on the right hand (starboard) side of the plane when flying in to Ft. Lauderdale.

Yes, my friend, it is supposed to be this way. I remember my first cruise like it was yesterday. We could see the ship from our hotel room in Galveston. It was great. We drove to the terminal, deposited our luggage with a handler and worked our way with the loonnngggg line of other fellow cruisers onto the ship. The glitz and Art Deco glared at us at every turn. The room, although small, was more than adequate, and we spent the first evening exploring the ship. Lounges here, Casino there, will you look at that, another lounge. Over here is a disco. Then we found the true purpose of cruising. We found the dining room. Not just "A" dining room, but THE FORMAL DINING ROOM. People, this is the reason to cruise. FOOD! Yes, glorious food. I love it all. The Mahi Mahi, Prime rib, Shrimp, Escargot, Lobster, and the desserts are to die for. Oh sure, the ports are fun with lots of things to do and see, and the ports also have good food, but my heart will always be in the formal dining room. Look out, ELATION, I'm coming home.

My first cruise is in exactly 1 month and if I got any more excited I wouldnt make it, lol. I have been counting down for 9mths and cant believe I am down to one. I know everyone is tired of listening to me and I have gone thru my clothes a hundred times and already started packing things(not clothes, other items)two months ago.

This cruise has been my life dream, I am 62, and its our 20th wedding anniversary so I cannot wait,

FOUR MORE WEEKS, FOUR MORE WEEKS,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too was excited like all of you. My first cruise and I couldn't wait. I was on here day and night.....packing for weeks ahead, buying all kinds of new stuff.

Then the unthinkable happened. Hurricane Wilma.

Stopped dead in my tracks.

Now I'm trying to plan all over again.

On the bright side....I get to get all pumped up...all over again.:o

Hola,

We have had a few setbacks also. We were booked for 1/7/06 out of NOLA. Canceled after Katrina. Then we booked out of Galveston on the ELATION for 2/6/06. Now Cozumel and Calica are trashed and we don't know where we are going, but, sweetheart, we are going. I don't care where, just let me on the ship. It has been said that I can have a good time at a funeral.:D The last time I looked, there were still cabins available. Why don't you go with us?

Our cruise starts Dec.4/05 on the Carnival Victory and I am so excited also I try not to talk about it to everyone...but I can't hold it in. Then I read all about everyone else being just like I feel and I get excited for all of use and myself all over again. I keep phoning my TA for every little thing I can think of...I think it makes me feel like its not just a dream, but I am sure she is sick of me. Then I will phone the cruise line...just because they are closer to the ships and I find it comforting...to ask them silly dumb questions. Wow...this cruise better come soon before I drive everybody crazy..LOL including all of you.
