Club O2 age restrictions?

My younger son will be turning 15 one week after our July Vista cruise. What experience have people had with him joining the Club O2 group given that his birthday is so close to our sailing? I know he will not want to be part of the 12-14 group having completed his first year of high school as he will have little in common with the younger kids.

They let our daughter move up when she was several weeks away from being 15. Wasn't on the Vista, but I think it's always up to the staff whether they allow it or not. In our case it was no problem.

^^^ This. It is ship dependent.

Liability jumps if Carnival would allow someone outside the posted age to participate in a group they weren't qualified for and something happened.
