Random Galveston questions

1) Any issues with finding porters to help with luggage before/after cruise? Are they easy to spot or in a specific area? We are be shuttled into port.

 

2) I was not planning on self embarking and have a 10am pick up for disembarkation day. My daughter has a 1:30 flight from Bush airport. Any problems with the timing of this?

 

3) I keep reading/seeing news about TSA issues. Has anyone experienced this recently in Texas?

 

4) Do they have places to get water or a soda once in the Galveston port, just in case of delay?

If your ship docks on time, you should have no problem making that flight.

 

As for porters, they have many, all over the disembarkation area. We couldn't find a free one, so they directed us to a lady and she told me to stand on a small line and they will get us a free porter. Took about 5 minutes at most. Having a porter enables you to go thru customs much quicker and you probably could carry that liquor off without paying the Texas added tax on it, if the porter carried it on their carts.
