Rare Host Bonjour Posted June 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2016 The Chambord Castle Tweeted today, 4 June that they will be open this Monday, 6 June 2016 with the hashtags #WeAreBack #ILoveChambord and #France so while the Loire region has certainly been hit hard by the rain deluge, it seems the castle walls and design structure of the castle have held up, all is well and visitors are welcome as ever. One must still be wary of rail road restrictions (partial strike) and naturally the drive - road conditions will likely not be optimal. Do check ahead of time for travel advisories. If Chambord is not in an easily accessible area, there are an abundance of glorious other Chateaux to visit - you will NOT be disappointed :D When looking through the guide it can become difficult choosing which ones to visit - each one has an allure that is unique. The rivers started receding - Paris did not ever have floods in its streets, only along the roads that run down along the river. The Louvre and d'Orsay closed only to move art from lower areas to higher floors as a precaution. While these floods did cause tragic loss of life and property damage/loss in Germany and France, recovery is thankfully underway. Adjustments or effect on holiday plans should be aught or minimal.
