cruisingtilmo Posted October 21, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 21, 2005 I recently cancelled our 3 Night Disney Wonder cruise, because it is $1600 more than the 5 night RCCL Grandeur of the Seas. Since we are a family of 5 we had to book 2 rooms, and the cost was becoming overwhelming. My husband is excited to do the 5 night vs. the 3 night, because he has always wanted to visit Cozumel. Has anyone done both and will I be dissapointed?? The only cruise I've been on is a 4 night Baja on the Viking Serenade, so I won't need to compare the Wonder to the Grandeur. I'm hoping my teens won't be bored:confused: . I'm plan to do a Disney Cruise late 2007 when there will be only 4 of us going.:p
sandyneck Posted October 29, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 29, 2005 Disney does have rooms that fit five. They are pretty expensive though, compared to other cruise lines. We have never sailed Disney because I can usually get a suite for what I would pay on a Disney cruise for a regular cabin! Now my kids are getting older and they don't want to go on a Disney cruise, so I guess I will never know if the extra money is worth it. You will have a great time. The 3 day cruises are way to short. You will be thankful for the extra day and you have one of my favorite itineraries.
lisa08 Posted October 30, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 30, 2005 I have heard you will not be dissapointed on the granduer. I also thought about Disney but for the price I was able to book to cruises. We also have booked the Grandeur if you click on the search button and type Grandeur you will see there are raving reveiws. Bette And Bill Posted October 30, 2005 #4 Share Posted October 30, 2005 I have done Disney and Roycal Caribbean but not the Grandeur. When I was planning the Family Cruise I thought about Disney but opted for RCCL for the wide range of things for kids of all ages to do. Your family will enjoy themselves. cruisingtilmo Posted November 2, 2005 Author #5 Share Posted November 2, 2005 Thank you everyone for the encouragement! I'm actually very excited to cruise on the Grandeur now, and hopefully we will get to take the kids on a Disney Cruise in 2007.:)
Cam6959 Posted November 2, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 2, 2005 My first cruise was on the Grandeur and I loved every minute of it. I don't have any younger children but talking to parents that have children in the kids program they loved it. Enjoy!
greatdanemom Posted November 2, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2005 I've done Disney and Grandeur. The Grandeur 5 day is an excellent value and I'm positive you'll enjoy the ship. I liked it so much I'm taking my daughter on Grandeur for her spring break in April. Cheryl
