apdaisy Posted June 8, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 8, 2016 I'm trying to figure out the best options for parking when cruising out of Galveston. Is it better to use the Port of Galveston or Park N Cruise?
Micahs Grandad Posted June 8, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 8, 2016 In general we do off site parking, saves about 50% of the cost of parking. The pier parking costs are outrageous IMHO.
amysb Posted June 8, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2016 (edited) I'm not sure how you would define better, but we always use Park N Cruise. Drop the bags with a porter, park the car and walk back to the terminal. We like the indoor parking. Edited June 8, 2016 by amysb
uprivermama Posted June 8, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Another vote for Park N Cruise. So close to the port, reasonable cost, and pretty easy in and out. Literally 5 minutes' walk from the terminal.
True Texan Posted June 8, 2016 #5 Share Posted June 8, 2016 We always use lighthouse parking. We get to their lot before we hit the cruise traffic. They come around in the van and pick us up with all our luggage. 5 minutes to the ship. They have always been waiting for us when we debark. We pay in advance and get $5 off. CruzieSue Posted June 8, 2016 #6 Share Posted June 8, 2016 Park N Cruise was great, short walk across street over to the port. Parked inside out of the sun and weather and all locked up from the day we left til the day we came back.
mistshar Posted June 9, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 9, 2016 We have used Park N Cruise twice and it was great. In April when we cruised we used Galveston VIP Parking. It is a little closer because it is right on the corner by the red light. We like it too. The people were very friendly and it is inside parking only. We didn't use Park N Cruise because I took an electric wheelchair and wanted to take the shortest route. Either one is great and very near the port. It is nice for us to get right off the ship, go across the street and be on our way.
Pops, Esq. Posted June 10, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 10, 2016 Another vote for Park N Cruise. Embarkation day, we pulled in, gave our name and were parked and out of the car within minutes. Debarkation was great. Time from customs to car was 10 minutes, tops. No shuttle needed. M
