Can we not in airport on way there buy some booze to put in hand luggage and use that though?

 

I've noticed some airports in recent years have a shop selling spirits to arrivals.

 

One point, there is NO such thing now as duty free alcohol available anywhere in the EU, that includes airside shops in UK departure lounge areas. :(

 

No advantage buying it at the airport, or on the plane.

 

The "duty free" shop inside Palma port facility is a con, it operates under the same tax regulations as anywhere else in Spain.

 

You'll get it in the Carrefour supermarket, as recommended, for approximately half the price, and they have a huge selection as well. :)

Yeh prob won't be duty free or cheaper than Asda say, but it WILL be cheaper than the cruise!

 

We just want a bottle for the room really, not going to fill a bag up!, we're not big drinkers, just be nice to have a bottle in room. So the airport or "duty" free shop at Palma will be fine, its more the getting it on the ship that I'm unsure of.

 

Even would buy before going, but not bothered, just buy at airport then put in case after we pickup in Palma airport. Also big bottle of coke etc?

The so called "duty free" shop at Palma port terminal is a rip off.

 

Better to buy a bottle in a UK supermarket and bury it in your main suitcase, carefully protected.

 

The gin at Palma port shop was double what we paid in Carrefour and had a very restricted range.
