kdn hawaii Posted June 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 13, 2016 Last we cruised on Royal Caribbean was almost 10 yrs ago and formal attire was pretty dressy. Is it still pretty dressy (coat and tie and evening gowns) or is long sleeve shirt with tie and cocktail dress underdressed? Sent from my iPhone using Forums If you want to dress up do so, if you want to dress just nice but elegant, think modern chic. There is no real dress code just suggested dress. Please if nothing else just look a little nicer on the so called formal night. Basically, it is your choice on what to wear.
OCruisers Posted June 13, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 13, 2016 Dressing on Formal Night is WAY "less dressy" than it was 10 years ago! :) Long pants and a collared shirt are fine.
BekkaW Posted June 13, 2016 #4 Share Posted June 13, 2016 You will see a variety of dress. There will be men in tuxes, lots in dark suits, some in shirt and tie, some just with a button through shirt, some in khakis and a polo. I don't see many ladies in long gowns but lots of cocktail dresses, or dark trousers with a sparkly top. Some more causal dresses/sundresses. You also see some people who don't dress up at all and there is nothing that says they have to. The only 'rule' for the MDR is no shorts, no flip flops, no sleeveless shirts - even this is not alway enforced!
