but the pier is in a fairly industrial area so you probably want to take a taxi to a public beach, Doctors Cave being the most popular and about 2.75 miles . . .

 

there are closer beaches but I believe they ARE associated with resorts ....

I agree Dr. Cave beach is the best bet if you aren't going to do a resort. It only costs a few bucks to take the bus - you get a little tour along the way. They beach is like 6 bucks a person... And another 6 bucks or so for chairs. Great little beach. Near downtown so you can do a little shopping too. We will be there in a few weeks :)

I agree Dr. Cave beach is the best bet if you aren't going to do a resort. It only costs a few bucks to take the bus - you get a little tour along the way. They beach is like 6 bucks a person...
