adventure_woman Posted June 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 28, 2016 Looking for something that is not expensive to do in Belize. I read one post about a water taxi to Caye Caulker for just $9? 2 adults, 9 and 6 year old. 1 adult has limited mobility.
Rare crewsweeper Posted June 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 28, 2016 That's certainly a possibility. The water taxi pier is just a short walk out of the Tourism Village where the ship tenders dock. If the 1 adult can get into and out of a tender boat or the smaller water taxi, then once on CC you might look into renting a golf cart. But not sure what golf carts cost. The main town is very walkable, flat with shops and restaurants, and a nice beach with some snorkeling available up at the Split. Cost for the water taxi is $9 per adult and 1/2 price for children under 10. RT is $15 per adult. so might be $7.50 for children. Other than the mobility issue you should note the times for the taxis, especially return times and remember they are on Central standard time, no daylight savings. From east coast US ports that's 2 hours difference. You'll need to get back in time to catch the last tender to your ship. And I'm hearing that since the 2 water taxi companies merged, the taxis are going a bit slower on their trips and aren't quite meeting their scheduled arrival or departure times from CC. You can just walk along the Tourism Village wharf and visit the shops and restaurants there. Or go outside the gate and take a horse drawn tour of the city.
