Taxi fare and length of drive from Ft.Lauderale Port to Miami Airport

Is it possible to fly into miami airport instead of Ft Lauderdale and drive to and from the port in Ft Lauderdale? If so does anyone know how much a cab would be?

For our cruise the other week, we took a red eye flight from San Francisco and arrived Miami at 5 am on the day of the cruise. We decided to rent a car and drive up to Ft. Lauderdale. When we returned the car at FLL , they asked us for our flight info. We said we were actually going on a cruise and they offered to take us to the port in the car we just returned. Extra points for Hertz!! Cost around $100.

Going home we had a 12 noon flight and paid for transfers to Miami. By the time we got off the ship and picked up our bags it was around 9:40. When we got to the bus, the driver said it might be 45 minutes before we left since they would have to wait until the bus filled up. He wasn't confident we would make the flight. We decided to take a taxi, however, the porter brought us to a car service who charged us $70...seemed pretty reasonable.
