Christapie Posted October 24, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 24, 2005 We are looking for a great beach for snorkeling on St. Thomas. I've read about Meagans Bay for popularity, but want a reef to puddle around in. Thanks in advance.

I've read about Meagans Bay for popularity, but want a reef to puddle around in. Thanks in advance. You definately want to go to Coki Beach. I was there for the second time just a few weeks ago. It's right next to Coral World - but we've neve stepped foot in there, just to the beach to snorkel. Megans is beautiful, but not for snorkeling. Coki is not facing the open sea, so very gentle waves and not very deep. It is surrounded by coral, attracting many varieties of fish and sealife. You won't be disappointed. I also recommend touring with Godfrey. 2 or 3 hours of shopping, followed by an open bus tour of several popular spots, followed by a 2 hour beach stop. He is very good and reliable. You'll get various beautiful views of the city and your ship, stop at Mountaintop where you get a great view of Megans Bay Beach. The tour guides Godfrey uses are very knowledgable about the island.
