Bug'sMom Posted July 13, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2016 We are staying at the Fairmont Pacific Rim on July 23rd and 24th. We won't have a car. We are wondering where we could catch a good view of the fireworks from around that area. We could possibly use the complimentary hotel bikes or even the town car service to get somewhat closer. Don't really want to go all the way to English Bay however due to the crowds. I was thinking we could either ride or walk to the Burrard Bridge pedestrian walkway? Or would construction not make that feasible? Any suggestions? Thanks so much for your help! xlxo Posted July 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 14, 2016 (edited) Thoughts.... http://hondacelebrationoflight.com/ I walked across the Burrard bridge a couple of weeks ago. The sidewalks are still under repair behind 6 foot high covered fences. there is a hill and buildings between the Pacific Rim and English Bay. you can watch the fireworks in the air.... one thing that makes the Vancouver show special is the water component. Something you can't see unless you can see the barges. bikes may limit you in the crowds pay attention to the tides if you plan to be on the beach. What looks great at low tide can drastically change in high tides. Please don't bury your beer in the sand. plan your dinner reservations as restaurants will be busy. Pace your washroom breaks some choose to go on fireworks cruises, however those on shore are closer to the blast zone. bring a radio.... the music is special when you can hear the music. Denman and Davie will have the highest density crowds. Love my steel toes. the roads close around the West End at 7:30pm. Show begins at 10am. some restaurants charge VIP seating prices for the best views...http://hondacelebrationoflight.com/festival-info/save-your-spot/#save-keg Edited July 14, 2016 by xlxo
