Question about carnival ship in port

Ship departure time is 10 pm and our boarding passes say check in 2:30-8-30. Anyone have any idea if we can check our bags in before that cause we have to check out of our hotel at 11? We just wanna get rid of our bags and stay in san juan not board the ship.

When we sailed from San Juan we started boarding around 12 noon. I don't believe San Juan has the staggered check in, so I would probably arrive around noon. We were there a little before noon and they were already accepting luggage when we arrived. You could eat something and then go back into town and spend some time exploring.
