Oink Posted May 14, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2004 Hi Gang! We are considering the Star Princess for either the Oct 31st or Nov 14th sailing (Eastern). Can you recommend a cabin, or better yet a mini suite, with a covered balcony? We prefer totally aft cabins as well. Thanks for your help. Oink! Lill Posted May 14, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 14, 2004 We were in C752 which is totally covered and the balcony was huge. There was room for two loungers, two chairs, foot stool and a table. It is one of the corner aft BBs. We loved it! Diamond Princess

Dr Oink Posted May 15, 2004 #6 Share Posted May 15, 2004 Thanks for your comments. I ended up booking an AC mini-suite #D733 this afternoon. Anybody have any pros/cons about this cabin? It's the very last aft cabin NOT facing straight back on the Star (Dolphin deck). Thanks again....Oink! bob&karen Posted May 15, 2004 #7 Share Posted May 15, 2004 Dr. Oink - D733 has a VERY large balcony, almost twice as large as other Dolphin minisuites as it extends perhaps another 10 feet aft beyond the width of the cabin per se. The tradeoff is that you may get a bit more wind when the ship is moving. A good friend had this cabin during a recent cruise and I thought it was a worthwhile tradeoff. Here's picture of the same cabin balcony on the Grand Princess, from someone's Webshots page: D733 Balcony B. bob&karen Posted May 16, 2004 #9 Share Posted May 16, 2004 Hi Oink, No, we're not Thomases, though we do have a good friend by that name. The balconies on the Dolphin Deck are uncovered; on the Emerald Deck, they are covered (by the Dolphin balconies above them). There are some better pix of these balconies that have been linked here before -- if someone has the link, please feel free to pass it on here!
