winncruiser Posted August 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 3, 2016 We have booked R732 aft deluxe balcony cabin on The Royal. Will we be covered in soot, making the balcony practically unusable? Any other words of wisdom re this cabin? Thank you!

Do you remember where muster was for your Cabin? I'll be next door. I can't climb the stairs so I'll need to find place to wait out the crowd. Maybe. Marina Deck might get more than yours....It really shouldn't be an issue. If you do have soot, just use pool towels for the chairs and ask for slippers. The advantages of the size of balcony far outweighed any soot issues we may have had. Our cabin steward did a great job of keeping things tidy. After we initially had put towels on the chairs, he always made sure we had new ones of we wanted them. Honestly, I always put towels on the chairs no matter where we are. We didn't go out barefoot very often mostly because the deck would be very hot from the sun. Only once or twice I wiped down the railing myself, again, no big deal. winncruiser Posted August 5, 2016 Author #9 Share Posted August 5, 2016 Murphey we ended up booking a mini suite on Marina deck far forward on port side. I hope that's a good choice. M220
