GaTech Posted August 5, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) We are sailing on Liberty of the Seas next week out of Galveston. My 8 year old daughter broke her leg and is now in a below the knee cast. She will either be on crutches or a knee scooter. She also can't get her cast wet. Does anybody have any recommendations on a fun excursion we can do as a family (we also have a 12 year old son)? The tour info isn't all that great for figuring out if she can do it. Thanks. -Dave Edited August 5, 2016 by GaTech
JohninDC Posted August 5, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 5, 2016 Book a 1/2 day tour through Black Hat or one of the others suggested on this board, or hire a cab for 3+ hours (hourly rate will be posted on the fare board near the taxi line). See the far side of the island (great scenery), stop for lunch at one of the funky beach bars over there. There is also a chocolate factory tour your kids might enjoy; there are small Mayan ruins on Coz - disappointing to me and maybe too much walking for your daughter. Chankanaab is another option - dolphin and other sea life shows, plus a pool and beach for the rest of your family. $20 each admission. :(
maldenmusic Posted August 5, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 5, 2016 We booked a tour with Hiring a Driver for the Day and had a great time. You can ask your driver for recommendations or tell them what you want to see-we did both. The east side of the island is definitely a must see.
