I just spoke to the Haven concierge this morning and she mentioned that we can arrive and check in as early as 9:30 in Miami. What is the earliest that anyone has been able to get on the Escape?

Boarding doesn't start until around 11am for Haven at the earliest, so unless you want to get Vibe Passes I wouldn't get their early. You can arrive at 10:30, by the time you go thru security, get you boarding passes and make your way to the Heaven area to meet your butler etc....it will be close to time to board

Is there any difference in the layout between the Haven Sundeck and Vibe Sundeck?

They are adjacent to each other. The perks of Vibe are 1) adults only, 2) dedicated bar, 3) limited access (I've heard there are around 75 passes available?). Sailed in May and never saw any children on the Haven sundeck (although I'm sure it happened), and although there is no bar on the deck you do have someone waiting on you and getting drinks from the Haven bar for you. Also the Haven, by definition, is limited. Not sure you need Vibe if you're in The Haven.

You can arrive early but it's not necessary. Once through security, there's a VIP check in area. From there you'll be escorted to the VIP area upstairs. VIP's are the first on the ship after anyone doing a back to back in the Haven. Boarding last week was around 11 AM.

As far as Vibe goes, there are only 50 passes. We received number 9 and 10 on our first leg and rebooked in the Haven for our second leg.

If kids bother you, Vibe is the best place on the ship. Romello, Renzie and Roberto are some of the best bartenders around.

I dig the concept of Vibe, but think I'm going to pass on this trip. We have a Spa Suite, so we'll have access to the Haven area as well as the Thermal Spa. Enough places to escape the kiddos if we want to I reckon.

Sounds like a good plan. We actually stayed in the Haven area on deck 17. On our B2B the Haven was full of kids. The hot tubs were packed with them. Having Vibe was a perfect option for us. Plus, we had the best time watching Tropical Storm Earl from the bar and hot tub.

Did you have to do the mad dash to get the Vibe pass, or did the Haven concierge take care of it for you?

On our original embarkation we did the dash but it wasn't bad. We walked up the gangway, went down one deck and straight to Headliners. The only reason we received 9 and 10 was due to disabled passengers who boarded prior to us. As long as you're upstairs in the VIP area, you should have no issue at all getting a pass. Just watch the door on the right. When it opens, move towards it. They'll call B2B Haven and then Haven and Suite guests.

We had the fastest ever Haven embarkation on our Escape cruise. We arrived at the port at noon. We were through security and into the Haven lounge in about a minute or two, and they had our credit card swiped, photos taken and key cards ready almost instantly.

We were then swept up by one of the butlers, who escorted a group of Haven guests as far as the gangway. Once on the ship, a Haven cabin steward took us up in a Haven-only elevator to the Haven lounge.

I'd say the whole thing took 10 minutes, tops.

After a quick hello and briefing from the Concierge, we were told that our cabins were already available. So we went on down to our cabin, left our things, and came back to the Haven restaurant for lunch.

As to the Haven sundeck: Yes, I have seen kids on it, but not a lot. Mostly there would be kids in the hot tub (sometimes without an apparent adult for supervision), but even that wasn't often.

What does happen, though, is that the kids make the Haven pool pretty much unusable in the afternoons. The pool is SO small...get a bunch of kids jumping in and out and it's pretty much unusable for anything else.

They're $99.00 per person/per week. We also had an H5 and we found the price reasonable and worth every penny.

Why not both! :-)

I believe the Haven concierge will have a handful of Vibe passes available if you'd like to avoid the mad dash to Headliners.
