Travelcat2 Posted August 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 14, 2016 This is a difficult question to answer. Is the waitlisted cruise that you are looking at within the penalty phase? If so, the likelihood of someone cancelling is slim but not impossible. If the cruise is several months away, it is likely that there could be cancellations prior to final payment. I would check either with your TA (hopefully you have one that is experienced with Regent and has a contact person at corporate) or call Regent yourself and speak with a customer service representative. I'm assuming that, if you cleared the waitlist, you could be notified anytime - up to a few days before embarkation. We once had an upsell offer while we were onboard a flight to the port where we were embarking (which meant that someone cancelled at the last minute).
