Wolfy2123 Posted August 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Will be in Bermuda on the NCL Breakaway in 2 weeks and plan on doing a beach day the full Thursday we are there. We plan on going to Horseshoe beach and then possibly walking to some smaller beaches in the area. Is Horseshoe Beach the only one in that area that has chair/umbrella rentals? Does anyone know about how much they cost? We are in our early 30's without kids so we don't necessarily need a ton of action so if anyone knows of a quieter beach near Horseshoe that has rentals we would be interested in that as well. Thanks

flowers44 Posted August 15, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 15, 2016 Horseshoe is the only one that has rentals in that area. You could rent from Horseshoe and then just carry them with you in search of the smaller, less crowded areas at the far right hand side of Horseshoe. There are several nice beaches and coves along the south shore area.

There are several nice beaches and coves along the south shore area. Glad you mentioned that. This year it is a little different with the new concessionaire. They have two types of chairs. Big plastic molded lounge type chairs which they will place for you but are somewhat unwieldy to move yourself. We used those one day when I was there in June. The next day we went we rented the lighter fold up metal chairs and carried them to one of the far uncrowded coves. Those who want to carry chairs to uncrowded areas will want to rent the metal chairs. Edited August 15, 2016 by Charles4515

Horseshoe is the only one. They are charging $15 for each chairs and for each umbrella but have a special discount rate of $40 for two chairs and one umbrella. If you get there after noon they might run out of umbrellas. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Edited August 15, 2016 by Charles4515
Buckcruise Posted August 16, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2016 (edited) We took the bus to Warwick Long Beach. I think It was the second of the day...9:30 ish, and when we arrived there was only us and the the other couple that got off the bus. The bus dropped us at the far end. Spent a little while there, then started to walk towards Horseshoe. At the other end of Warwick is where what seemed like a million shuttle busses and taxis pulled in and within minutes that end was crowded. No rentals though just bathrooms and maybe a concession, I did not go up and look. We gradually walked to Horseshoe partly along the beach, partly through a campground and parking lots, stopping at all the Coves and grottos, which are gorgeous...some calm, some with rough waves. We spent so much time in the water that chairs at this point would have been a waste! When we were walking back along Horseshoe to the far end where the concessions and shuttle busses when we stopped to ask the guys that were collecting chairs about the price. Just curiosity fir next time as this was Friday and we did not have enough time left to lounge!!!! They made a great suggestion for next time....don't go on Friday! Do what we did again and arrive at Horseshoe about 3pm , pay $20 for chairs and umbrella park them at the end closest to the concession and you are good til about 6pm. We took the shuttle back for $7 pp right to the ship! FYI It was a pretty easy walk for a nearly 60 yr old who is not very fit. It was a hot day, close to 90 but mostly cloudy!
