What happens to unused OBC?

I'm wondering what happens to leftover or unused OBC? We have $300 per cabin during a promo/sale and were originally going to use towards drink packages until RC started their online sale so we purchased drink packages already for the lower price. Also, we have decided to do shore excursions privately since we're not impressed with the RC options.

 

Use it or lose it.
