princess kates mum Posted August 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted August 23, 2016 We are looking at doing the clam shell rental and kayaking in roatan through carnival. This provides loungers for two. We have three adults... can we rent a third lounger somewhere. DD will not be happy sitting in sand all day
Rare crewsweeper Posted August 23, 2016 #2 Share Posted August 23, 2016 There are "free" loungers available on the beach. Whether or not a guard or beach employee will allow you to drag one over I don't know. But I'd say give it a try. Worst they can do is tell you to move it back, so pick one that's close to your clamshell. Kayaks are single and double in seating. double is more stable and a bit sleeker than the singles. But you can't go very far in them.
sandyoftheseas Posted August 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2016 The clam shells are only big enough for two loungers so the third person would not be in the clam shell. All the beaches we have been to with Princes(not Roatan) it was not a problem to move the lounge chairs to where you want them. The big problem with the clam shells are they can be VERY HOT if the weather is warm because they don't get any wind. On the plus side when it rains it was the perfect shelter, other people headed back to the ship but we stayed nice and dry under the clam shell.
