We were originally booked on NCL Breakaway for November to Florida and the Bahamas. We decided we would rather do Bermuda, and by going in August, our 14yr old son would not miss any school. We chose Summit over Breakaway due to price.

Check in at the pier was very simple. Only hiccup was security took our extension cord and power strip. An extension cord was provided but witout the power strip it nade charhing devices a bit of a juggling act.

We were in a Veranda room, 9020. Plenty of storage for the three of us. Luggage tucked away nicely under the bed.

The bed was a little uncomfortable the first two nights, but a request for additional padding was taken care of at turn down service that night.

Overall I would say the food was very good. We had Select dining and service wax excellent the first 5 of 7 nights. The last night's service was very slow, we'll over 2 hours for dinner, and coffee served after dessert was finished.

We did find the lunch buffet to be limited in selection and the set up a little disjointed. That being said, what they had was generally tasty.

The shows we found to be ok. Both comedians were funny, but we felt the production shows to be lacking. We felt the performers did a good job with what they had to work with, it was the shows themselves that weren't to our liking.

In Bermuda went jet skiing with K.S. waters sports(located right on the pier past the taxi stands.) Great job by tour guide Ryan. When my wife wasn't comfortable with riding with our son a few minutes in. He took our son as a passenger on his ski and gave him a great ride.

We tried to do the mini golf on Thursday afternoon, only to find they were closed for a private party from 2-5pm. Might be nice if they informed the ships of the closing so it could be planned around as it is a popular attraction.

Due to weather, we left Bermuda early on Friday morning. Captain Alex wanted to beat the storm. Hurricane Hermine wax threatening. Rough seas on Friday had the ship rocking. We heard of many kids in kids club getting sick, as well as a lot of first week cruise staff. Sick staff may have been part of the cause for slower service on final two dinners.

X-Club served as a good meeting place for our son and the many kids he met on the ship. They didn't find the prearranged activities to be all that fun, but they made there own fun. We used Facebook messaging to keep in touch with him, and pretty much saw him at dinner and then when he xsme back to the room at 1am curfew.

Great cruise. Can't wait to go back next year with a large group we already have planned.:D
