ambergj Posted May 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 17, 2004 Has anyone else had the Cruise Director Frankie? I know that last summer he was an assistant director to a Irish guy named paul who was not very good, but Frankie was OUTSTANDING!!!!!!! Just wondering if he still is with Princess and what ship! Guest Posted May 17, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 17, 2004 I found it rather poor taste for Paul to communicate those kinds of thoughts about Frankie to a passenger and further found it unfortunate that the passenger chose to post them on the internet. I’m a personal friend of Frankie – he’d be quite disappointed if he knew. ------------------------- Sun Princess, 03/2004; Pacific Princess, 07/2003; Star Princess, 05/2003; Grand Princess, 10/2002; Grand Princess, 10/2002; Sun Princess, 05/2001; Sun Princess, 04/2001; Sun Princess, 09/2000; Sun Princess, 09/2000; Regal Princess, 10/1999; Sun Princess, 08/1998; Holiday, 05/1998; Westerdam, 09/1997; Regal Princess, 11/1996; Royal Odyssey, 09/1995; Starward, 11/1993
cruiserw/kids Posted May 17, 2004 #5 Share Posted May 17, 2004 I'm in full agreement with you! I actually have read many posts where people felt that Frankie is would be a great Cruise Director and that many thought that he was better then the CD that he was working under. Reading the rest of that review makes me wonder if some of the comments weren't possibly embellished on a little bit. ambergj Posted May 17, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted May 17, 2004 I absolutley love Frankie. He was the best and I got the priveledge of meeting him in person. He was so great and very very funny. I personally thought that he was way better than Paul. I had seen Paul off of the ship in Venice and he has a very very dirty mouth the way that he was talking off of the ship, I was in shock! I was walking in front of them and I dont think that he even cared if anyone heard him. I Just think that a CD should have more class like Frankie. What I love about Frankie, even though he sees SOOOOO many people every week, he still does try to remember peoples names as much as he can, even though it is very hard. He is a great guy and I'm always commenting on him and his talents. He is outstanding! Please pass along that he is doing a great job! Skitter Posted May 18, 2004 #11 Share Posted May 18, 2004 I have to agree with you. He is by far better than several of the CD's we had on many, many Princess cruises. They should promote him. Skitter

TICK1946 Posted May 18, 2004 #13 Share Posted May 18, 2004 I was on the Pacific Princess in 2001 and Frankie was the Deputy Cruise Director---I don't even remember the Cruise Director's name. Frankie was fabulous---we spoke every day. He seemed extremely competent. My wife and I wrote a great review and letter to Princess about him. He was promoted to Cruise Director of the Sea Princess that year. He was reluctant to accept the promotion as he wanted to stay on th PP as a smaller ship, but knew she was being phased out. Apparently something must have happend if he is not a Cruise Director now. That is such a shame---He was the best of all the 7 cruises we have been on. I would love to know what ship he is on now. GloriaF Posted May 18, 2004 #14 Share Posted May 18, 2004 I thought it was in poor taste to write that about Frankie in a review, and in even poorer taste for Paul to say it. Maybe Paul is jealous and worried about job security. kool kruiser Posted May 19, 2004 #18 Share Posted May 19, 2004 Good to see Frankie in The Med again this year. Last summer he was on the Golden on the same itinerary and was quite simply a knock-out. Sad to hear the negatives about Paul, as he and Frankie were together on the Golden and were brilliant together. We had the pleasure of speaking to them both on many occasions and they were both always charming helpful and real fun. Great guys. For those on the Star, do not miss the morning show on your cabin tv...it's a scream!!
argosy Posted May 20, 2004 #19 Share Posted May 20, 2004 Frankie is STELLAR. He made our trip on the Golden, in 2002, really something. He was assistant CD to Janet, who I also liked...but Frankie (quite frankly) outshone her. Unfortunately, I have not met another cruise director who was half as good as Frankie was, so I now lower my expectations a little. Thanks Frankie, wherever you are...and I hope we meet again. ambergj Posted May 20, 2004 Author #20 Share Posted May 20, 2004 That is very nice of your argosy! I just think that is outstanding also. There was always like a excitement to see him at the enxt activity the next day or the morning show. He has the best personality, and he did not make it apparent to the guests that he was very busy and had all sorts of other things to do. The cruise director last july just made it seem like he was actually too busy to spend too much time at one thing. I think Frankie did a nice job disguising what a busy guy that he is. Well Done Frankie! Sea Princess: 08/2000 RCCL Voyager of the Seas: 12/2002 Golden Princess: 07/2003 Can NEVER get ENOUGH cruisin Keep on Cruisin!
