Carnival Glory WiFi info needed.

There is a lot on this board about the Wifi plans...and since i'm not all that familiar with what is said, i'm looking for suggestions for the following.

We want to stay connected to home and would like to see video of the people we are talking to. (videochat)

My wife has an IPHONE 6. The people we wish to video chat with also have the same IPHONE.

I have an Android...the people we wish to video chat with DO NOT.

We can use either device.

IF we choose the "basic" plan, will we be able to use Facebook for video chat? Can I use an Android to video chat with an IPHONE?

 

Suggestions..information would be appreciated and which plan to purchase. My daughter is expecting after we get back, BUT if nature has other plans, we would like to view our grandchild. :)

the service you get at sea is very spotty. VERY slow. So viewing for chat might be impossible.

 

Can you save it until you are in port-- and facetime from there

I would have everyone use Skype so it won't matter which type of device they have. It is supported with the Premium plan although I have not used it personally. The new wi-fi is much better than the old one. This is from when I was on the Glory in February:

social plan has whats app included. txt oer wifi

 

i use viber, same thing. would i hav to use what's app specificlly or would viber work? need to have son download if it has to be whats app so we can txt all week

 

if you only need to use what's app and facebook social should be sufficieent.

i can use data, phone etc in port on my own plan
