Good for you, I think you will enjoy your cruise as you are going with an open mind.....please come back after your cruise and share your thoughts.

We are moving forward with the cruise! We are definitely open to new experiences, meeting new people of all ages, and are looking forward to time away from home/work/etc. While we do like to go out, we are looking forward to having a relaxing time on the cruise as well. After all your comments, I feel that my boyfriend and I will have a great time on the cruise! While I was a tad nervous about the nightlife scene, it makes us feel a lot better that not everyone leaves at 10PM and there could even be crew at the bar to stay up with. You guys make a great point about early excursions, as I have several planned, and my boyfriends loves the casino so I'm sure he will have a great time there. So if you see a couple of 25 year olds (as there might not be many) on the cruise from Jan 13-27 on the OOsterdam, please say hello!

 

I am happy you made a decision you are happy with! We like HAL because it is pretty quiet, and I feel sure I could find fun if I looked for it.

 

For excursions the port boards here will have suggestions for private tour operators. If you want something unique or maybe more active, the outside vendors offer great options.

This will be a very chill experience for you. Load your Kindle and your iPod, and you won't have a problem with relaxation. I'm old enough to be your parent and my kids are now in college. Even as teens my kids liked Princess, and they liked the fine dining aspect of HAL, and the fact they didn't have to go running off to the next thing. What I like about HAL are the smaller ships. I'm on the Oasis next week and everything has to be scheduled or you can't get in. (And I hate it!)

 

Excursions are pretty much the same with every cruise line. You will find something you like.

 

Of all the cruises we've done as a family, the HAL Eurodam was one of the best--because we booked a Retreat Cabana (not available on all ships) and we really liked the itinerary. You know what you're getting into for your trip, and know you will be among the young'uns on board, but you have a good outlook.

I think you will both enjoy your cruise very much. I would suggest finding your roll call for your sailing and posing on it. See if you can find like minded people ahead of time.
