St John for the day

We tried renting a car in St John for the day. They do not take reservations for just one day. If there are no cars available the day we are there,does anyone know what the cost would be to hire a taxi driver to take us around the island? Do they do that? We have seen St Thomas before and are looking forward to spending the day in St John. We want to check out the camp grounds, do the beach thing and just have fun. Any suggestions??? Thanks

Depends how independent you wanna be.

 

There are cab drivers all over the place, at all the major beaches for sure, who I see mostly sitting around playing cards that would love to tote you around the island.

 

What ship will you be coming off of and where?

We are very independent people. We are on the Carnival Victory, arriving in St Thomas on December 15th. Hoping that one of the rental places will have something left for us to rent. It is nice to always have a plan B, just in case. Thanks for the responses.:cool:
