Lady of the Lakes Posted November 1, 2005 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2005 I was just wondering if it is advisable to wear your swimsuit under your shore clothes or to take it with you and change?
Ehpride Posted November 1, 2005 #2 Share Posted November 1, 2005 I don't know if it's suggested or not, but that's what I'm doing and I'm going with my mom who has cruised before. The only shore excursion we're doing is the stingrays in Grand Cayman so I'm going to wear my swimsuit with clothes over it and bring underwear to change into. gjules Posted November 1, 2005 #3 Share Posted November 1, 2005 When I went to Stingray City before, I was glad I only had to pull my shorts off and there was my swimsuit! Lots of people on the boat and only one small bathroom to change in. I will wear my swimsuit with shorts again and take other clothes to change into. Happy ks Posted November 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2005 I'll wear the swimsut under a sundress, but I always take along a clean pair of undies and bra to change into. With the exception of being close enough to the ship to walk back and change, I want to be able to change out of a wet, sandy suit!
BlueHerons Posted November 1, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2005 I always wore my swimsuit under a skirt and fitted tee.
CruisingMoII Posted November 1, 2005 #6 Share Posted November 1, 2005 I wore my swimsuit under my clothes at Grand Cayman and Cozumel. The only one I didn't was Key West and that is because we were at a bar all day. :D
estj Posted November 2, 2005 #7 Share Posted November 2, 2005 I was just wondering if it is advisable to wear your swimsuit under your shore clothes or to take it with you and change? most shore excursions take you to your destination and then directly back to the ship (unless it's a combination excursion)...so I always wear my suit under a pair of Columbia shorts (that dry quickly) and a T. We just go back to the ship, shower, and then we're off again! Dressing room space, especially when taking any excursion involving water is limited at best (unless you're going to a resort beach for the day). Enjoy your cruise! RachelD Posted November 2, 2005 #8 Share Posted November 2, 2005 I always wear my swimsuit underneath my clothing and then after the excursion, either change in the bathroom, or throw a sundress over it after it has dried a little. This way, when we get to the excursion site, all I have to do is take my shorts and take off and then afterwards when wearing the sundress, I can still go shopping or sightsee. I don't like to waste my time on the ship when in port. I want to be out there seeing all that there is to see.

lszu Posted November 2, 2005 #10 Share Posted November 2, 2005 For water-related shore excursions I'll wear my swimsuit with a pair of quick dry shorts or men's swim trunks and a t-shirt with my water shoes. I usually only bring an extra t-shirt if we plan on doing something else, too.
