Status match Carnival Platinum or SPG Platinum

Hi All!

 

I've searched the forum and didn't find a definitive answer. I've decided to book a cruise with MSC and want to status match. I'm a regular cruiser and have tried many lines but have stuck with Carnival for the past several cruises. I want to try something new and have decided MSC would be a good line for future cruises.

 

I know as a Carnival Plat they'll match me to MSC Gold I have 126 days in the books with Carnival. I also have Starwood SPG Platinum status with my hotel group with 540 days in the books.

 

My question is which to match with? They'll honor both.

A Lifetime SPG Platinum would surely give you black, being the top tier. I would attempt the match with this.

The hotel match is an odd one. I got (and my husband) black with a match with Le club Accor platinum as we would have only got gold matching with IHG Spire.
