Tahiti cruise is over - now what?

If you are taking a Windstar cruise, have paid for the airfare package and are not deviating from the cruise's flight schedule, then Windstar will transport your luggage from the Wind Spirit to your day room at Le Meridien Tahiti and will take you and your luggage to the airport when it's time for your flight (which will probably not depart until 11pm).

We are doing this cruise next year and I would really like to take a tour of the island of Tahiti that day instead of sitting around at the hotel, but the itinerary shows the Wind Star arriving in Tahiti at 9:00am that morning and most group tours are departing by that time. If we can't arrange for a tour that leaves a little later, then we'll just hang out in downtown Papeete and shop for souvenirs at the market.
