Hazydavo Posted October 29, 2016 #1 Share Posted October 29, 2016 (edited) Hi all, When's the best time to buy bottles of duty free alcohol on Royal ships (esp. Explorer), first night, second, towards the end of the cruise? When do they usually have the sales? Thanks in advance. tassie cruiser Posted October 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted October 30, 2016 (edited) Sometimes they sell out of certain things so maybe best to get early on in cruise if there is something specific you want. Can't remember actual sales as such, princes don't alter (could be wrong, but I have not seen) , from day 1 it's usually 2 for $, etc. are you going to Vila? If so, would be better to get there, much cheaper there. Edited October 30, 2016 by tassie cruiser

Thought the good deals were offered early in the cruise but can't remember. My wife thinks towards the end. Should have taken more notice, have been on a few :o
tassie cruiser Posted October 30, 2016 #5 Share Posted October 30, 2016 If you leave it till end of cruise you may risk them selling out of something. I remember on our last voyager cruise, I left till lateish on the cruise and all the popular things had sold out.
Hazydavo Posted October 30, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted October 30, 2016 Yes that does happen. Buying early is probably the way to go. And I still seem to recall the prices (esp. "2 for" deals) are better in the first few days. Interestingly I've also seen occasions where they bring out some items that weren't available early on and even if we've specifically asked about it. Perhaps they've picked some up at one of the ports.
