Raxter54 Posted November 3, 2016 #1 Share Posted November 3, 2016 Might be a bit of congestion on I45 going thru Houston for a few weeks: http://www.chron.com/news/transportation/article/Bridge-hit-finally-hits-I-45-drivers-with-closing-10590585.php Plan accordingly..... Galveston Cruiser Posted November 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2016 There are alternate routes. Anyone coming in I10 can continue through town to 59S Victoria exit then to 45S. Same in reverse - 45N to 59N Cleveland exit I10. We have always driven this route to avoid the Hwy 45 Pierce elevated.

sptrout Posted November 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 19, 2016 Hi! Any advise for those driving from Dallas? Just take I610 around the City and rejoin I45 south of town. If you live in Texas and have a electronic tollway pass, then I would take Beltway 8 Tollway around the City (farther outside of downtown). I live about 1 mile from I45 on the north side of Houston. If I was driving to Galveston this weekend, I would take the tollway.
twobluecats Posted November 19, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 19, 2016 Thank you so much for the details. We do have a pass, so the beltway seems the logical choice! Thanks again.
